Privacy
Coinmap is a map of places and websites that accept cryptocurrencies, plus a peer-to-peer (P2P) board where people can show where they are to exchange crypto face to face.
No accounts, no cookies, no tracking
There are no user accounts, no advertising and no analytics or tracking scripts. Your preferences (language, filters, the last map view, the P2P form you filled in) are kept only in your own browser's local storage and never sent to us.
P2P location sharing
- Sharing is off until you press “Share my location”, and the browser asks for your permission.
- By default your public point is approximate: shifted by 150–350 m in a random direction for the whole session and rounded to about 100 m. You can choose “exact” yourself.
- Everything you publish (nickname, offer, contact, location) is kept only in the server's memory, never written to disk, and is deleted when you press Stop, when the time you chose runs out, or 15 minutes after your phone stops sending its position.
- To prevent abuse we keep, in memory and for the same duration, the IP address of each live session (max. 3 sessions per network) and of people who report a listing.
- Coinmap is not a party to any exchange. It does not hold funds and does not check the people on the map. Meet only in public places.
Suggesting a website
When you suggest a website we visit it once to check for crypto payment, and keep the address, the result and your IP address (to limit spam).
